‘Do you really think so?’
That’s the first time I spoke on camera, on film… I thought, what am I supposed to do? I kept thinking I should make something miraculous happen and all I had was that simple line. - Julie Andrews

Julie Andrews is that rare thing - a lady! ‘You are just beautiful… the motion picture business is in love with you!’ - Bette Davis.

LET ME TELL YOU EVERYTHING!!
Sooooo..I got there at about 2, so veeery early. Went to find a Starbucks, skyped with @taniadoeslittle, and waited until it was 3. Then I went into Saks, I was kinda scared, maybe because of excitement, but the store looked huge and so chic, expensive, whatever, so i was like, OMG, little not rich me in this?! Haha, but thank God I went!
When i was in the store, I discovered it had like 10 levels so I was confused as to where the signing was going to be, since they only sell clothes and stuff like that..so I decided to just go up up up and see on every level if there was any sign of a book signign somewhere, then on the 9th floor, I realised they had children’s stuff, and since Julie’s new book is a children’s book, my smart mind (:p) sensed it was gonna be there. Sure enough, when I got out of the elevator, I saw a sign and rackets with the pajama matching the book. I went to where the signign was going to happen, but nobody was there yet, and I also read that it was going to start half an hour later than it said on the webs, at 4.30. I figured it was too early and too long to stand around there, looking like a creepy fan, so I went out again and waited at Starbucks until it was half past 3, went up again, and when i got there, it was about a quarter to 4, still only one mother and her child there, BUT they had set up the thingy to form the line! I bought one of the books, read she wouldn’t personalize or sign anything else, and no pics allowed of course. Ah, well, at least i was going to meet her! I sat down and waited, together with the mother and her daughter, and slowly, more and more people came, but at like 4.20 it was still rather empty there. The little girl asked he rmother; “Is Mary Poppins coming?” Hahaha, that was cute. Theeeeen I finally stood up to get in line, and there were only 5 people in front of me, so i was rather close to the table, even though they set up the line a few meters from the table away. Then, all we did was waiting, waiting, waiting, because the Queen was late of course! ;) I think she finally came out at around 5, and OMG, I couldn’t believe it, AHHHHHH JULIE FRICKIN ANDREWSS IS LIKE FIVE METERS AWAY FROM ME! :D
I had about a million butterflies in my stomach and began shaking, my heart was pounding like crazy. The signing began, and she was so sweet, she talked to everyone for a few minutes, and I moved closer towards her..snapped a few crappy iPod pics..the girl before started to tear up, lol, I was close to crying myself, but didn’t cry in the end ^^. THEN it was my turn! Julie looked at me, smiled, said Hellouuu in her accent, and i think she may have said how are you or something, I forgot. I said “It’s so nice to meet you!” She smiled at me and said: “Where have you been today?” Me:”Umm, just around here.” She said something I forgot, and then I told her I saw her in London last year and that it was great and she said something like: “Oh, you went to London? (I have a blank here, not sure what she said) So are you from London?” I told her I was from Germany, but working here as an au pair now, she said “Oh that’s nice, and do you like it?” I said “Yes, I like it, it’s great, I love New York!” She said, “ohhhh, me too!” (while we were talking, she was signing) Then I said “Thank you so very much!” cause she was nearly done signing, and she said “Thank you for buying!” I said “Yeah it’s great.” (lawl, never even read the books, but whatever) and then she asked me:”Did you buy anything else today?” I said, No not yet, and she was like” Well, then go! (laughed)” Julie wants me to be poor obviously, haha. I said something I forgot, she said, “So nice to meet you! Bye!” I said bye and thank you and went, shaking and heart pounding and happy. OH GOD.
She looks lovely, she smiled so hard I couldn’t really see her eyes, ahaha, but she has freckles, and her eyelashes are curly and she wears quite a bit of make up. She wore a blue blazer and a white pullover, and black pumps or something high-heeled. Lol, yes I examined her closely. :D Her voice sounded kind of hoarse and deep, but it was lovely. She was so nice :)!
I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED!!! I’m sorry if my story is a bit confusing or something, I’m still in shock. I wanna go back.
^^

Thank you! :) I hope you’ll get to experience something like this too!
Julie’s next book will be released in April 2012..
